You
use application tape to transfer the weeded graphic from the paper backing sheet onto the surface where you want your sign.
If you are unsure what application tape you need then consider the following;
Paper
or Clear
There are 2 types of
application tape. Paper
application tape
looks like masking tape and goes translucent when used in a wet application. Clear tape is transparent. If you are starting out in sign
making consider a clear application tape
as you will find it easier initially as you can see what you are doing as the tape is transparent.
Tack
Application tape comes in 3 tacks. The
tack is the level of stickiness of the adhesive on the back of the tape. There are also different qualities of paper which determines
how the application tape behaves eg. whether it will curl if you store a graphic that has tape applied to it.

For
use with low tack stencil / sandblasting film or application to delicate surfaces eg. painted plasterboard walls. |

Everyday
use. A good all rounder that you can use for standard vinyl application to windows, walls and vehicles. |
 |
Use
when you are producing small graphics. Also good for marine applications. |
Look for the tack icons to the right of each product
Brand
All the brands we stock are quality application tapes so selecting a
manufacturer is really down to personal preference. If you are
just starting out we would recommend the DeTape or the RTape Aplitape 4050 application tape.
